Sea Life Incursion May 2026

Diver Dave came from Coogee Beach to teach the children about sea creatures and ocean life. The children were highly engaged and curious throughout the experience. Diver Dave showed the children many interesting sea creatures and ocean-related items including crabs, brittle sea stars, fish, different types of sea snails, starfish, seashells, goggles, snorkels, flippers, and swimsuits. The children enjoyed observing and learning about the different sea animals and their habitats. One of the most exciting moments was when Diver Dave hid crabs under a box and later took them out to feed them carrots. The children were fascinated watching the crabs eat and move around.

The children also loved interacting with the kissing snail and exploring the collection of seashells. Diver Dave encouraged the children to ask questions and share their thoughts, supporting their curiosity and confidence in learning. A highlight of the session was the treasure hunt activity, where the children searched for a box filled with jewels and coins. This hands-on experience created excitement, teamwork, and problem-solving opportunities for the children.

Diver Dave also spoke to the children about the importance of keeping our oceans clean and not throwing rubbish into the sea. This was a very informative discussion that helped the children develop awareness about caring for marine life and protecting the environment. The incursion was engaging, educational, and enjoyable for all the children. The children demonstrated great enthusiasm, curiosity, and respect while learning about sea creatures and ocean conservation.
