During dental health week at Appleseed we kicked things off with a special storytime featuring the book “Tooth and Nale” a fun and engaging tale about a boy and his dinosaur friend visiting the dentist for a check-up. The story helped the children learn about the importance of dental hygiene, including how to brush their teeth properly and which foods are good (and not-so-good!) for their teeth. After the story, the children particpated in a hands-on activity where the children got to become little dentists themselves! Using a set of pretend teeth and real-life dental tools, Educators demonstrated how to brush and clean teeth carefully just like a real dental hygienist.
These activities not only spark children's imaginative play but also supported the development of fine motor skills, cooperation, and health awareness. What a fun and meaningful way to explore the importance of taking care of our smiles!
