The children of Appleseed have been very busy bees over the past month as they have been taking care of our brand new vegetable garden.
The Yellow, Green and Red Room children have been taking turns watering the plants to ensure they have enough to drink "so they grow big and strong" and spraying them with a natural insect repellant (garlic and water) to make sure "bugs don't eat all our vegetables!".
There was so much excitement amongst the children when the first strawberry and the first tomato was spotted growing!
Sustainable practices are embedded into the everyday routines here at Appleseed and we believe that nature and the natural environment provides children with endless opportunites to imagine, explore and learn.
