Planting our vegetable patch

Today at Appleseed we planted lots of new seeds and plants into our vegetable garden. We planted a lemon tree, tomato, cucumbers, snow peas, strawberries and lettuce. The children helped to plant and water our new garden - they absolutely loved digging in the dirt!

This was a great opportunity for hands-on learning, inquiry, observation, and experimentation. Gardening also helps children build an understanding of and respect for nature and our environment. When children participate in growing edible plants, they are more motivated to taste, eat, and enjoy fruits and vegetables.

Your Words

We encourage regular feedback from all of our parents. It helps us quickly identify and fix any areas that may have room for improvement. It’s always nice to hear when we’ve done well too...
